Pizza Chef
- Job offer
- Full time
Gingerino’s is looking for a reliable and switched-on pizza chef / kitchen team member to join our team in Ouseburn.
We are an independent pizza business focused on handmade dough, quality ingredients, consistency, and good service. We are not a standard takeaway, and we are looking for someone who understands that the small details matter.
The role will involve preparing, cooking, and serving our pizzas and related menu items to a high standard. You will be involved in daily prep, service, cleaning, stock rotation, and maintaining food safety standards.
You will need to work efficiently during busy periods while keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and consistent. This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and wants to be part of a growing independent food business.
Main duties include:
- Preparing dough, toppings, sauces, and menu items to Gingerino’s standards
- Stretching, topping, cooking, cutting, and finishing pizzas consistently
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and ready for service
- Following prep lists, recipes, portion controls, and food safety procedures
- Managing stock correctly, including labelling, dating, rotation, and waste control
- Working well with the team during prep, service, and close-down
- Supporting front-of-house service where needed
We are looking for someone with previous kitchen, pizza, bakery, or fast-paced food service experience.
Pizza experience is a strong advantage, but the right attitude is just as important. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be reliable, clean, organised, and willing to learn our way of doing things.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Experienced in a kitchen or fast-paced food environment
- Able to work evenings and weekends
- Clean, organised, and calm under pressure
- Comfortable following recipes, systems, and instructions
- Able to maintain standards during busy service
- Honest, responsible, and willing to take feedback
- A good communicator and team player
- Interested in food quality and consistency
- Able to work independently once trained
We value people who take pride in their work and notice the details, whether that is dough quality, topping levels, cleanliness, oven management, or how the final pizza leaves the kitchen.
We offer a supportive working environment in an independent business with room to grow.
Benefits include:
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Training in our dough, pizza, prep, and service standards
- Staff food
- Opportunity to grow with the business
- Creative and independent workplace in Ouseburn
- Experience across pizza, events, private dining, and casual service
- Supportive team environment
- Clear expectations and systems
Pay will depend on experience, reliability, and the level of responsibility the candidate can take on.
Expected wage range: £12.71–£15.00 per hour depending on experience.
A higher rate may be considered for someone with strong pizza experience, the ability to run sections confidently, maintain high standards, and support the wider team.
Hours can be discussed depending on availability and experience.
